I experienced the same in Ubuntu 24.04. Using both Wezterm and Ubuntu 24.04 default terminal, with zsh. Opening any terminal editor (nano, nvim, helix) when trying to edit a skill, via /skills and selecting a skill, and press tab, it messes everything up. I was trying to type a command for the editor or typing something in the editor, but the cmd also received the same text I typed and the cmd will send it to the agent and start working, and both the cmd and the editor buffers were mixed up and I couldn't see what is the actual output.
Then I tried Claude Code to see if my terminal (wezterm or default) were the problem, but it was fine. Claude Code can forward to the editor (via /memory command) and get back to the Claude Code session without messing the session.
I'm using CommandCode version 0.39.2 in Ubuntu 24.04
Not sure why we need to do alt screen. It will create a bunch of problems. Search won't work, scroll will be a mess. The native primary screen is much better at all this. We have a major rendering engine rewrite landing soon.
