A saved workflow created mid-session in ~/.claude/workflows/ is not resolvable by name until restart #103659

Open

Description

@star-ga

Version: Claude Code 2.1.289, Ubuntu 26.04.1 LTS.

What happens
A workflow file written to ~/.claude/workflows/ during a session (valid export const meta = {...}) cannot be called by name, neither Workflow({name: "my-loop"}) nor workflow("my-loop") from another script. The same file runs fine via scriptPath. It becomes resolvable by name only after the session restarts, and the error does not say so.

Expected
The registry picks up new or edited saved workflows without a restart, or the not-found error says that a restart or scriptPath is needed.

Repro

  1. Start a session.
  2. Write ~/.claude/workflows/my-loop.js with a valid meta block.
  3. Workflow({name: "my-loop"}) → not found; Workflow({scriptPath: "~/.claude/workflows/my-loop.js"}) → runs.
