Question for you @abbas10to8: do you get access to Copilot via an organization, and does that organization have the "Copilot CLI" policy turned on?

Possibly similar issue:
If it type /model it will just crash

Confirmed my organization had to enable the "Copilot CLI"
I would say that the stack trace/error message is probably not appropriate :-P

I've opened #229 to track a more informative error message when you're blocked by policy -- I'm going to close this in favor of that!
