eduvids turns a topic into a narrated, animated lesson. You type something like "Bayes' theorem" or "how small is an atom?" and it plans the lesson, writes the narration, writes Manim (3Blue1Brown-style) animation code for each beat, renders it in a sandbox, and syncs the voiceover to the picture. You get a landscape video or a vertical Short with a thumbnail, which is auto-uploaded to a YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/@eduvids-ai)
Why it's a good fit:
Education for everyone: it's free with no sign-in, and it supports languages other than English, so anyone with a browser can get visual explanations of math and science.
Open source (MIT): the full pipeline (lesson planning, Manim codegen, rendering, TTS timing) is in the repo, and the README covers self-hosting.
Approachable for new contributors: the stack is Next.js/TypeScript plus Python/Manim, so there's work for both frontend people and math/animation people. Improving the Manim prompts, fixing rendering edge cases and adding voices/languages are all self-contained tasks.
Actively maintained: it gets frequent commits and merged PRs.
