Kinda bummed that a security patch isn't available in the container registry at time of announcement tbh, been hours now since the announcement and no way to actually patch systems when relying on the official node containers :(

The Node.js Docker repo passed the request to build new Docker images to the official Docker repo and PR docker-library/official-images#22538 was merged at 2026-10-21 11:28 UTC, which kicked off the Docker build process.

@tonnio & others
Following up on this issue that several other users also upvoted, I'm wondering what we can do to improve.
History
The Node.js builds (non-Docker) were promoted to https://nodejs.org/download/release at 2026-10-21 10:35 UTC
The Node.js Docker repo passed the request to build new Docker images to the official Docker repo and PR docker-library/official-images#22538 was merged at 2026-10-21 11:28 UTC, which kicked off the Docker build process.
Soon after this, tags without images appeared on https://hub.docker.com/_/node/tags
Published images were later observed on https://hub.docker.com/_/node/tags at 2026-10-21 15:04 UTC
So it took about 4.5h from start to finish before Node.js Docker images for the security update were available.
