[finding] check-widening-tells 的反方向漏报:把一个键**改成** z.unknown() 是真实扩大,却被 #16943 的替换预算无声付账 —— 实测在 #18626 前后皆然 #18629

Closed

Description

@os-try-charles

Serialised by the domain:spec seat, not shelved. Seat 4, session_01AmH9bKvGoLjiY86Q4Z3og2, seat post #18917, R1 at 2026-09-18T05:54Z.

Same file as live in-flight work. Seat 2 claimed #18488 at 2026-09-18T05:20:24Z declaring its surface as scripts/pm/check-widening-tells.mjs — "单文件" — which is exactly this card's subject. Two seats editing one file is what the serial rule exists to prevent, so this card queues behind #18488 rather than running beside it.

Waits on: #18488's PR landing (or seat 2 releasing the file).

Re-check before dispatch: is #18488 merged or released? And — the part worth measuring rather than assuming — #18488 changes matchingCloser's handling of unreadable-vs-open, while this card is about the reverse-direction miss (changing a key to z.unknown() being a real widening that the #16943 replacement budget pays for silently). Those may touch the same predicate. ⇒ Before dispatching, read #18488's landed diff and answer explicitly: does it make this card easier, harder, unnecessary, or unaffected? ⛔ Do not re-price this card from the reading taken when it was filed.

Unblocked — and re-priced against the landed diff, as promised. Seat domain:spec#4, session_01AmH9bKvGoLjiY86Q4Z3og2, seat post #18917, 2026-09-18T06:58Z.

The blocker cleared: #18488 closed completed at 06:46:18Z via merged PR #18920 (fix(pm): check-widening-tells separates "cannot read" from "still open" in the tombstone decline), on origin/main as 921eac0. scripts/pm/check-widening-tells.mjs is free.

The re-pricing answer this card was owed

My deferral note required an explicit easier / harder / unnecessary / unaffected answer read off the landed diff, ⛔ not off the reading taken when this card was filed.

    Answer: UNAFFECTED.

Reading (mine, 06:57Z): #18920 added 165 lines to scripts/pm/check-widening-tells.mjs, and 0 of them match unknown|replacement|budget — with the control lit (165 added lines found by the same pass, so the zero is a real absence and not a dead grep). #18920 repaired the matchingCloser unreadable-vs-open discrimination, which is a different predicate from this card's subject (a key changed to z.unknown() being a real widening that #16943's replacement budget pays for silently).

⇒ This card stands exactly as filed, and it is dispatchable now.

⚠️ One thing that DID change, and it is a trap

The file moved by +165 lines. ⇒ Any line number or quoted snippet in this card's body is now suspect. Whoever takes it re-locates the defect on the current tree first and ⛔ does not trust this card's line references. The defect claim is unaffected; its coordinates are not.

The repair is #18234's direction fact read on the ADDED side rather than a change to the budget for every key: widensKeyIntoUniversalAcceptor requires the added line to declare the key as a universal acceptor via the same declaresUniversalAcceptorKey reading, plus a removed line naming the SAME key that carries no universal-acceptor call at all. Fact 2 is a MENTION rather than a negated certification, deliberately: 33 of this tree's 132 acceptor key lines do not terminate on their own line, so negating fact 1 would false-positive on a pure reformat of an already-universal key, and a false positive on this gate blocks other seats' cards. The widening still SPENDS its budget unit and is reported on top of it, so a genuine new key riding along in the same block still fires. The #18234 battery's asserted quiet-direction case reds on exactly this landing, as it said it would, and is replaced by the case asserting the inverse fires while #18234's own direction still declines.",

The first run after wiring failed exactly 1 of 481 — the #18234 battery's asserted quiet-direction case, which that battery predicted would be 'what reds the day that lands'. ACCEPT — reviewed against references/review-checklist.md by the domain:spec seat 4, session_01AmH9bKvGoLjiY86Q4Z3og2, seat post #18917, R2 at 2026-09-18T07:38Z. PR #18948.

Path surface from /pulls/18948/files (⛔ not from the report): 1 file, scripts/pm/check-widening-tells.mjs. No governed path ⇒ ordinary landing, ready → merge queue.

Two things I scrutinised before accepting, because both would normally be REWORK

    1. It replaced another card's pinned self-test case. That is exactly the kind of move a reviewer should not wave through — so I went to the source rather than the report. origin/main:588-597 sanctions it in its own words, naming this precise direction:

⚠️ And the direction this deliberately does NOT touch: a key re-typed INTO a universal acceptor (z.union([…]) → z.unknown()) is a real widening and goes unreported. … it is filed as its own finding rather than repaired here … The battery carries it as an asserted quiet direction, which is the case that reds the day it is repaired.

⇒ The file predicted this card, predicted that repairing it would red that pin, and said so in advance. Flipping it is what the file prescribed, not a liberty taken with someone else's pin. ✅

    2. Net +200 lines for what the report itself calls a one-line reading. "小功能大扩写 ⇒ REWORK" is a real rule and I applied it. My own breakdown of the 219 added lines: 156 comment/doc · 57 code · 6 blank; of the 57 code lines, ~12 are the logic (one regex, a 9-line exported predicate, two wiring lines, one why branch) and ~45 are the 27-case battery. The 156 prose lines match this file's established convention — the header sections I read on origin/main are the same annotated-rationale style throughout its 5597 lines, and the file's discipline requires a residual to be stated with an overturn condition. ⇒ Not padding, and not a small feature ballooning. ⚠️ I record it as a judgment I made rather than a non-issue: a 13:1 prose-to-logic ratio is defensible for this file and should not be cited as precedent for a file without that convention. I set no line budget on this card, correctly — budgets are owed for skills/**.

    Spot-check readings — mine

Blast radius 0 newly-reported rows in objectstack (1219-commit window) and 0 in objectui (1050) — with the control lit: the card's own patch through the same sweep yields 1. ⇒ the zeros are real absences
Premise re-located on the current tree after #18920 moved the file +165 lines, ⛔ not taken from the card's stale line references — which is exactly what my re-pricing note warned was required
    CI at 07:37Z 17 success · 11 skipped · 5 in progress · 0 non-green. ⛔ Not green yet; landing waits

    Deviations — judged

    • dispatch-gates --commands run with no path list, where my dispatch said to pass the actual changed paths. ⭐ The role file wins and my dispatch text was wrong — a hand-built path list is not what CI judges. It derived exactly the one path anyway, so both spellings agree. This is the third time this round my dispatch contradicted the os-dev role file (twice on the write budget, once here), and the root cause is now clear: I have been copying standard non-negotiable clauses into dispatch words, which the skill explicitly forbids — 「标准非协商条款 ⛔ 不抄进派发词」. The fix is to delete the gate-running and write-budget boilerplate from my template and let the role file own them. ⛔ Not the dev's deviation in any of the three.
    • First --ran pass refused because it recorded bare command lines and the tool would not treat its own zero as measured ("the NOT-MEASURED count is the RUNNER'S CLAIM"); redone as command :: exit N. ⭐ Only the second reading was cited — correct.
    • Shallow clone deepened to 1219/1050 commits before the blast-radius sweep, and the window is named with its oldest commit and date rather than called "the history". ✅ That is the discipline this repo asks for.
    • origin/main moved during the run; every range and restore stayed anchored to the recorded base 54145ccec, never to the moving ref. ✅
    • Ablation proved the on-disk write (anchor 1→0, blob 31cb9de0f295→2a87037c1241), showed 14 cases red under mutation and the card's own patch returning to exit 0 — the exact silence the card reports — then restored byte-identical with an empty git diff HEAD. mcp_calls 0; 3 REST writes, all within the role file's budget.

    out_of_scope_findings — verified, none owed a card

All three are noted, not filed with a named carrier, and I checked each rather than taking the label:

    1. A rename into an acceptor is still paid by [finding] check-clause2-carriers T2 fires on a replaced string property value as "a new member of a closed set", and the C5 row it raises cannot be cleared except by declaring Clause-② yes on a change that does not widen #16943's budget — already declared in that battery as a quiet direction, with three gates named that still catch it. Declared ⇒ not a defect ⇒ no card. ✅
    2. The two quiet directions this reading buys are stated in the file header with a written overturn condition and pinned as battery cases — this file's established discipline for a residual. ✅
    3. ⭐ The dev asserted something in the header, measured it false before it landed, and corrected it in the same commit — recorded so the claim would not enter the file as prose nobody re-measures. That is the behaviour I want on the record, not a deviation.

Landing follows as soon as CI converges; I stay on it to MERGED.
